Monday, November 22nd, 11:30 A.M.

Dear Dad,

Yesterday afternoon they gave you what they call a "sedation vacation". This is where they take you off of the heavy sedation for periods of time (usually an hour or two a day), to see how you respond. They like to see what the pressure in your brain does, watch your vitals and perform some responsive tests. Last night, during sedation vacation, they shined the light on your eyes and you flinched. You also got aggitated when they pinched your toes. During the night you remained about the same. This morning during your S.V. your brain pressure numbers raised some, so they went ahead and brought back to your full sedation. Your eyes are staring to look less irritated and blistered. I could tell that mom was very pleased to see this. We continue to be amazed and so grateful for everyone's prayers, kind words and selfless acts of kindness. They do not go unnoticed and we pray each night, with gratitude in our hearts, for each and every one of them. Dad, you are extremely loved.

Love,

Us

  6. Dave, it has almost been a week since you rocked our world with your accident. I want you to know that there is not a day that goes by that you aren't in our prayers. We have learned a lot about praying this week and we are so grateful for you and the wonderful example you are to our family. As your sister I am so grateful for a brother that loves me and my family unconditionally. I am grateful for you for loving our kids as if they were your own. I can never repay you for what you did for Brady when he came home from his mission. Lindsay loves you for loving her enough to tease her about being modest. Lindsay held your hand the other day and you gave it a little squeeze when she told you she loved you. It was a special moment for her. Abby loves how you make her smile and you are the perfect example of honoring your Priesthood for McKay. I am so grateful to have you as my brother. Yes, you were a tease when we were younger and I have thought about those days many times over the past week. As I got older you were always there for me when I needed a friend and to protect me. As a teenage girl I was always so proud that you were my brother. One of my favorite teenage memories is hanging out with you, Lance and Dan and going to 7-11 to make nachos.
We love you Dave and we know that you are a fighter and you will wake up soon and wonder what all the fuss was about. The fuss is about you because we love you so much!

Hang in there! Michelle is so strong and your kids are right beside her to buoy her up. You would be so proud of your family.

    We love you!

  7. I wanted to pass along our heartfelt prayers for your Dad. This blog is such a wonderful thing, not only share information, but create a healing for the family writing it, and for your father, so he can "catch up" when healed, GodSpeed!
