Dear Dad,
Today you have stayed pretty consistent with your brain pressure, staying mainly in the low 20's. Last night they moved you onto a different bed. They have put an air mattress under you to help keep bed sores away. A nutritionist saw you today and said that you are going to need 3,000 calories to keep your strength up. Right now you have been receiving 1,800. Hopefully bumping up your caloric intake will help make you stronger. We will make sure you have a box of Christmas tree zebra cakes ready to go the moment you are able to eat. There is a big snow storm coming in tonight. Mom has sent us kids home to have a sibling night. We are going to watch movies and eat lots of junk food. We don't like to leave mom, but know that this is what she wants. You have an incredibly strong wife, but you already know that. She is a great comfort to us all, knowing the right things to say to keep our spirits up. What a great example she is to us of unconditional love and compassion. We are thankful for her. Keep getting stronger and stronger.
Love,
Us
You are all amazing and strong. We love you and are still thinking and praying for you.

I looked out at the snow this morning and couldn't help but think how much you enjoy getting out the ole snow blower and helping those who need help. Mom and I love you so much Dave and pray for your healthy return. We think of you every moment and know you will be better soon. Keep fighting son.
